Before signing up for a mobile app, users usually get a brief overview of its benefits. This introduction is known as onboarding. It helps kick off the user experience, so they know what to expect.
Many usability issues can degrade the onboarding experience, such as low text readability and hidden visual cues. Here’s an example of an onboarding flow that has these issues.
As you can see, the white text is hard to read because the background photo bleeds into it. Not only that, but it’s unclear how to navigate to the next onboarding screen. As a result, users will fail to view all the screens and miss out on information.
