Great library, it looks very nice.

    Looks nice.

Can we see internal (in use) screenshots?

  3. Hayley Reply

Are the elements made using graphics/images or OmniGraffle compenents? Or to ask it another way, are they fully editable (including gradients, colours, text, font, etc.) or not?

    • anthony Reply

All elements are made using Omnigraffle vector components. Everything is fully editable and customizable according to your needs.

hello guys, make this lot an AI file and i will definitely be a customer…

  5. Catalin Reply

“Like” to previous comment. I’ll also buy the set in AI format.

  6. Juliano Dasilva Reply

Did you mean the next version of Interface Library will be for free? I was going to buy it but you said next version will be free. When is the next version? Thanks! They look really nice btw.

    • anthony Reply

Thank you Juliano. Glad you like them.

What I meant by that is that the updates to Interface Libraries are free, not that the next version will be free. Sorry about the confusion.

  7. James Reply

I use Fireworks, will I be able to use the AI version?

  8. Philip Weber Reply

Looks very Fantasy Interactive to me (which is great). I’ll buy when the Illustrator version is out.

  9. Hilla Reply

Really useful, and beautiful too! Will wait for the AI version though.

Hello, regarding the “Bin Ary” rounded corners switches, how are they made ?
In the default OG library there is the standard rectangle with 4 corners that can be made round, and another rectangle with the top corners that can be made round.
I have been looking at many libraries but I only found “fakes”, never a rectangle with the two lefts or two rights corners, or only one of the four corners that can be made round using the Style panel.

    • anthony Reply

The binary button consists of two vector shapes. You can make the corners as round as you want. No other wireframing library compares to Interface Libraries. It is the real deal. I guarantee it won’t let you down.

  11. Juliano Dasilva Reply

@Anthony, I’ll buy them and let you know how it goes. I hope it doesn’t let me down. 🙂

If you could have a Visio version…

    • JW Reply

What type of files do you get with these? If these are PSDs I would love to buy these for use with iRise.

    • Hernan Teano Reply

The comments say it’s available for Visio, but the product description at the top (and the product icons shown) don’t acknowledge Visio – just want to confirm that Visio is included.

      • anthony Reply

It WAS made available for Visio, but I got some feedback about some objects not rendering correctly. Because I want the product to be of the utmost quality, I felt that the poor rendering would decrease it. Thus, I have discontinued it for VIsio. But they are still available for Omnigraffle and Illustrator.

  13. dave Reply

What would be cool if you add the applescript technique to increase/decrease the annotation numbers like Meredith Noble did at http://www.usabilitymatters.com/2011/03/21/annotation-wireframe-dot-applescripts-for-omnigraffle.

  14. Pierre Reply

You had a Visio version. What happened to it?

  15. Bernard Farrell Reply

I’ve been using Balsamiq for the last year and have found it quick to learn and easy to use. One big advantage I can see over using Interface Libraries is that the results look like mockups instead of finished products. This lets the viewer know that the mockup may not be well evolved, that it’s ok to suggest and even encourage changes to it. Perhaps when closer to a final design, Interface Libraries, might be good because the fidelity is better.

Bill Buxton has argued for fast, low fidelity, initial prototypes to focus on “getting the right design, before getting the design right”.

  16. JW Reply

Did anyone find out if the AI version works for Fireworks?

  17. JW Reply

I’m a total AI newbie, I’m opening these files with AI but only seeing a blank canvas… any ideas?

    • anthony Reply

They are symbol files, so to see the symbols you have to open your symbols panel. Go to the top nav bar and select Windows and then select Symbols and you should see them. Then you can save them to your symbols library.

  18. niels Reply

Do you have any plans for a fireworks version as well?

    • anthony Reply

If there is more demand for a Fireworks version I will create one, but so far, only a couple people have asked.

      • Dwight Reply

        +1 demand for Fireworks version!

      • Oscar Reply

Another +1 for Fireworks version. I hope soon! Btw, how long will it take, or how difficult is it, for you to create teh Fireworks version? If not much, please do the Fireworks version soonest. Thanks!

      • Ruud Reply

I’m using Axure a lot lately, and if this lib was available for it, I would buy it instantly!

  19. Chad Allen Reply

Anthony, I purchased the interface library a couple of days ago and have yet to receive my download link. Could you looking into the issue for me? Thanks.

    • anthony Reply

This is likely due to your spam filter. I have sent the email download for Interface Libraries 3.3 to your Paypal email. You should receive it. But If you don’t, please let me know.

  20. Victor Reply

Anthony, you were right for some weird reason your mails ended up in my spamfilter. Thanks for pointing that out to me 😉

    • Sigmundo Reply

eh, cheapos like you are better off just using whatever free crud is out there. you won’t notice the diffo, anyway.

  30. Greg Hodgson Reply

What format do these come in?

Would they be compatible with Balsamiq (which my PM has a fetish for)?

  31. Saurabh Shah Reply

This looks amazing library , will surely give it a try.

  32. Evan Reply

Nice guide for those of us who are too proud (or cheap?) to use stock material but needed a good list of all possible UI elements (and some trendy stuff thrown in).

  33. Molly Reply

Agree with what Ruud says. It’d be great if this was available for Axure.

  34. Erik Reply

Any indication this will be available for Axure soon? I would absolutely pay for it!

  35. Jes Reply

Any future plans for InDesign availability?

    • anthony Reply

Most likely not. I believe Omnigraffle, Illustrator and Fireworks are the best tools to use for wireframing.

      • Rinat Reply

is there a way to make multi-page wireframe in Illustrator?

        • Julian Reply

Use multiple canvases. Only available in Illustrator CS5 and above.

      • Julian Reply

That’s pretty short sighted. If you’ve ever tried InDesign with the Unify framework, you would realize it’s superior to just about every non-web base wireframing product.

OG is superior to flow charts.
Illustrtator is superior when pulling off visual design.

InDesign has so many better documentation features others don’t even come close.

        • Luke Reply

Lovely library by the way but I have to agree with Julian RE InDesign.

Having used both extensively, several InDesign features make it a superior tool to Illustrator for wireframing. Not least master pages, nested documents and hyperlinks between document locations.

Illustrator/Photoshop/Fireworks are far better suited to visual design after you have completed your wireframes.

Does anyone know if the Illustrator library will work in InDesign or whether it can be imported?

          Thanks!

          • Monica

InDesign should work pretty seamlessly with Illustrator. They are part of the CS family.

Can I use this in a commercial product as well or does the license only allow me to include it in sketches that I am presenting?

Are the Fireworks versions fully editable within Fireworks? Can I change the text / fonts / colours etc? Thanks . . .

    • anthony Reply

You can edit the text, fonts and shape sizes, but not the colors in the Illustrator and Fireworks version. The colors are purposely grayscale to suit wireframing. I’m not sure why you would need to change the colors and really don’t think you should. Wireframes should not come in color because they’re not used to communicate visual style or identity. They’re used to communicate the layout, flow and information structure of the user interface.

I’ll be buying the Fireworks version but would LOVE to purchase an Axure version as well.

Any chance you would add one for Axure any time soon?

FWIW, I agree with Bernard Farrell – the rough look and feel of Balsamiq is better for mockups because less time is spent on look-and-feel (which is likely to change anyway), and mockup time is spent on functionality.

Your product looks great, and I’d love to see it offer a “rough” look and feel.

Also, is there a demo available?

PS. Total kudos for *not* using captcha. You rock.

I am also using Axure all the time right now. I think Fireworks is great, but it’s a web design tool rather than a UX design tool.

I think each look and feel has its own goals and way to present the UI. When I am working with a client, I like having the rough look and feel of balsamiq. But when I am working on my own apps, I like using high fidelity components.

I used the free mockup kits at http://guitoolkits.com/free-app-ui-mockup-templates/ with some success (I like using Illustrator rather than balsamiq, and I can use it like balsamiq using those kits)
